Robyn Rihanna known as Rihanna in Barbados, is an Barbadian musician and singer who has given us hits songs like Pon de Replay Umbrella SOS and Take a Bow. She is a very popular artist who has sold over 41 million albums around the world as well as more than 150 million tracks. Born in Barbados, she grew up to appreciate reggae music and began singing when she was a young child. Unhappy with the chaos in her family and the constant arguments between her parents, she absorbed her self in music. She soon realized she wanted to become a professional singer. When she was in high-school she formed an ensemble and was a part of the auditions at the auditions for Evan Rodgers. Evan Rodgers was blown away by her talents. In order to earn a living as a professional singer, he asked her to move into New York. Rihanna made her debut album, and was an overnight sensation. The songs of Rihanna were favorites among the young who pushed her into the world of film. Being a gifted young lady Rihanna has been recognized as a teenage idol. Rihanna uses her fame for good and actively supports several charities.
